I’ll keep it short. I just finished this book and my mind is still blown! Kahneman does a great job of explaining an extremely complicated topic in a manner coherent for the average Joe. This book describes how we (humans) make intuitive decisions, which are sometimes detrimental. It is fascinating to explore something so “mindless” in such detail. Kahneman has dedicated his career to exploring decisions we make in a split second. In addition, he provides research that supports his theories. My thought process will be forever changed, I guess that’s why he won the Nobel Prize!
One study that stood out from the book was one in which two groups were administered a questionnaire about their life satisfaction. For one of the groups a random dime (10 cents) was placed nearby, and the other was jut given the survey. Although the dime appeared completely random and meaningless to the survey, the group who was primed with a dime rated their life as more satisfying! Incredible.
I highly recommend this read. Pick it up here!
